Gardens score tourism gold

Hamilton's Indian Char Bagh Garden

Hamilton Gardens has been recognised as one of the best tourist attractions in New Zealand.

The award-winning Gardens retained Qualmark Gold Status in May after an independent assessment of the attraction from a social, economic, environment and health and safety perspective.

Attaining gold status is not easy and throughout New Zealand only 12 per cent of operators have achieved the top rating.

The Gardens is one of Hamilton’s prized and most popular assets and the rating – which is managed by Tourism New Zealand – means the gardens has been validated as a quality tourism business.

“It’s very positive to have our practices validated by this process,” Tamsin Webb Business Development Manager at Hamilton Gardens says.

“We are continually looking for opportunities to improve and ensuring our business is positively benchmarked against other tourism attractions.”

The rating means the Gardens receives a high profile through Tourism New Zealand media channels.

Qualmark helps deliver quality holiday experiences to visitors and the Qualmark logo is becoming a sought-after visitor requirement.
