Fab five: K9 Christmas

K9 Christmas

Come and have your best friend’s photo with Santa at Innes Common on Sunday from 9am to noon. There will be plenty of doggie things to do and see such as agility, training, dog-friendly treats and much more. Welcome to all dog-lovers. We will then let you know what time you are booked in. There is a cost of $5 for your photo this will need to be paid in cash on the day. ​Remember that all dogs must be on lead. The event is weather permitting so make sure you’re following the Adopt-a-Dog Facebook page for the latest details.

Christmas tree lighting

New Zealand’s biggest and most beautiful Christmas Tree, it’s 27 meters tall to the tip of the star.

It dominates Garden Place once again in 2018 and will be a great focal point for the community to gather, watch, perform and celebrate the festive season. The tree will light up for the first time on Saturday with a special event that includes the opportunity to sing some favorite Christmas carols.

The Big Shave Off

Four cops, four beards and four wives that want them gone. The beards that is. Constable Driver has been asked by many people to shave that ‘thing’ of his face. He now is and has dragged four colleagues along for the ride – Detective Joubert, Craig, Custody Officer Dixon and Constable Driver have elected four charities to raise money for. Their target is $10k, $2.5k per charity. The shave off will be done in public so all are welcome to come and cheer them on. This will happen at the Riverbanks, overlooking the river from 2pm.
