The Life and Times of Scarface Claw
Fierce on the outside and soft underneath, Scarface Claw takes centre stage in his very own exhibition. The exhibition also includes early drawings and the preparatory work that goes into producing a picture book. Dame Lynley is both the author and illustrator of her books. The exhibition will be at Waikato Museum from Saturday 26 January through to Sunday 12 May so make sure you pop in and have a look.
Award-winning and critically acclaimed English producer and musician Fatboy Slim will be performing at Claudelands Arena on Friday 25 January at 6.30pm. You’ll hear top hits from his four albums such as ‘Right Here Right Now’, ‘TheRockafeller Skank’ and ‘PraiseYou’. This is an R18 event and tickets start at $97.50. Sevens Kick-Off Carnival
This is your chance to be part of the pre-sevens action by meeting some players up close and personal while enjoying free food and activities. You’ll also be able to enter the draw to win some passes if you haven’t already got tickets yourself. Kicking off at 2.30pm in Garden Place – see you there!

There is something for everyone at Gourmet in the Gardens, with Mexican, Korean, Vietnamese baguettes, fresh fruit ice cream and so much more. Bring the whole family and your favourite deck chair, bean bag or picnic rug. Sit and enjoy some great local musicians in the award-winning Hamilton Gardens. Starting at 4pm and food trucks will be serving till 8 (unless they sell out earlier).
With all this hot weather we’ve been having, why not take stroll in the Taitua Arboretum? You’ll be shaded by impressive mature trees spread over 22 hectares and you can choose the how long you spend here. There are lakes, woodland gardens, birdlife and ample picnic spots, all linked by a network of walking tracks.
