Obstacle courses, blend your own smoothies, have a go on an electric bike, races and bike decorating are a few of the activities on offer at Love Your Bike Day 2019 on Sunday 24 February.
Back for its sixth year and at the new venue of Claudelands Park, Love Your Bike Day is a free event, open to all ages and runs from 10am to midday.
Registrations are now open for anyone interested in biking – including families, people new to biking and those wanting to brush up on or learn riding and bike maintenance skills.
Hamilton City Council’s Road Safety Co-ordinator Mihi Bennett-Smith says the day is aimed at riders of all levels from beginners to intermediate with a focus on bike safety and healthy lifestyle.
“Our city is a perfect place for biking around and we’ve worked hard to make sure there’s something for everyone from bike enthusiast to first time rider at Hamilton’s annual Love Your Bike Day.
“Whether you have a bike in the garage and want to brush up on biking skills, you’re a parent wanting the kids to learn bike safety, or you’re a keen biker wanting to have some fun with other bikers – this is a great way to engage in all things biking in one place”, says Mihi.
The day will include games, races, bike maintenance and much more. There will be lots of great giveaways and by registering before the event and attending on the day, attendees will go in the draw to win one of three bikes.
Hamilton City Council supports a healthy lifestyle and will provide free fruit and water on the day.
