Road safety works set to begin on Peachgrove Rd

Motorists are urged to be extra vigilant on Peachgrove Rd from today as road safety improvements begin.

Traffic management will be in place on Peachgrove Rd where it meets with Claude St and Tennyson St while construction of a new raised safety platform and two pedestrian refuge islands are underway.

The works are expected to take three weeks to complete and are part of Hamilton City Council’s annual road safety improvements programme, which aims to make the city’s streets and roads safer for everyone, no matter how they choose to travel.

These types of projects focus on making our communities safer for all users by improving visibility, slowing vehicle speeds, and increasing pedestrian and cyclist safety.

Hamilton City Council has adopted a Vision Zero target of ending deaths and serious injuries on the city’s streets and roads.
