Overnight work to resurface a stretch of Wairere Dr westbound between Pukete Bridge and Pukete Rd will start on Tuesday 4 June (weather permitting) and is expected to take four nights.
The work will be carried out between 7pm and 6am, and traffic management will be in place with traffic from the westbound lane sharing one of the two eastbound lanes while the resurfacing work is done.
The traffic lights at the Wairere Drive/Pukete Road intersection will also be turned off and the intersection will be controlled by traffic management.
The work is being done overnight to minimise disruptions to traffic. Some noise from the work is unavoidable, but where possible the noisiest operations will be kept to the early part of the shift.
Hamilton City Council asks drivers to take extra care as they travel through the work area, including to look out for the hardworking team on site, and thanks people in advance for their patience.
The work to improve the road surface is part of the Council’s ongoing programme to ensure the city’s roads are well maintained and road markings are clear.
