A section of Hamilton’s river path network through Matakanohi Reserve will be closed for two days next week to allow for repairs.
Matakanohi Reserve is a low-lying riverside park on the western side of the Waikato River. The park is prone to flooding when the level of the river rises.
Cobblestones on the path have deteriorated and become unstable and remedial work is required.
The work means the closure of the path for two days, from Monday 30 July – but this is weather dependent.
Path users will need to detour via adjacent streets while the project is completed.
Regular path users can sign up to Hamilton City Council’s river path notification system by visiting hamilton.govt.nz/riverpaths
